Eberhard & Co. reconfirms itself as a key player in the historic car sector and strengthens its position with a new and prestigious event, the 30th historic commemoration of the Coppa della Perugina (www.coppadellaperugina.com), the first circuit speed race held in Umbria from 1924 to 1927, strongly desired by Giovanni Buitoni, then patron of the 'La Perugina' confectionery company. The event has grown year after year, gaining an enviable reputation in the field of historic cars, sustained by a passion and dedication that is in some ways unparalleled, based solely on volunteer work and linked to a beautiful history linked to the city of Perugia, to Luisa Spagnoli and to Giovanni Buitoni, two enlightened minds of Italian entrepreneurship at the turn of the century. The race, which started on 4 May and ends today, also saw Eberhard present for the first time as Partner and Official Timekeeper: the winning crews of the two final classifications, one for the 1920s cars and one for the post-1930s cars, will be awarded two prestigious models from the Tazio Nuvolari collection. Three days in Umbria of relaxation, culture, sportsmanship and friendship await one hundred and thirty crews from Italy and abroad. For everyone it will be, as always, a celebration of being together, united by a passion for beauty: landscapes, places, works of art, culture, food and wine, and cars. With this new event, the solid partnership between the Swiss watchmaking company Eberhard & Co. (www.eberhard-co-watches.ch) and the fascinating world of speed and challenges with a retro flavour. The link with classic cars was born in 1992, when the Maison became Official Chronometer and Sponsor of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, after having dedicated to one of the greatest drivers of all time the special "Tazio Nuvolari" collection of chronographs, conceived and realised on the basis of a design philosophy that takes as its reference the instrumentation of racing cars of the time: the driver's seat of the extraordinary cars with which the "Flying Mantuan" conquered so many victories was, for Eberhard technicians, a concrete source of indications and functional and aesthetic solutions. This collection is continuously renewed and enriched with precious references year after year. The most recent novelty is represented by the Nuvolari Legend -Novità 2018 , an automatic chronograph with a retro flavour characterised by a new black dial with a central snailed tachymetric scale in km/h, an antiqued leather strap that gives the watch a very special "lived-in" look and a transparent sapphire crystal back that allows the movement to be admired. Available in two sizes 39.5 mm or 43 mm.
