The name of the Swiss Maison, therefore, will stand alongside that of Audi on the sails of the three Melges in the 20, 24 and 32 classes throughout the season, which began in Miami last 8 March with the Bacardi Cup, a race that ended with a second place for the Melges 24 Audi Italia Sailing Team supported by Riccardo Simoneschi's Eberhard. The calendar is decidedly full of appointments for the three sailing classes and for the three Audi Eberhard boats: from Loano to Naples, via the island of Elba and Sardinia, the Melges 20 and Melges 32 will be engaged in the 5th edition of the Audi Italia Sailing Series tournament, a circuit that will also see Eberhard take on the role of Official Timekeeper, while the Melges 24 will this year contest the world championship of the category, which will get underway in Torbole on 30 July. A tightly-packed succession then, from April to December, for as many exciting regattas.
