Vacheron Constantin exhibition at Cassetti in Florence

Vacheron Constantin @ Cassetti_Firenze_2017Vacheron Constantin presents the Overseas exhibition dedicated to the collection of the same name in the elegant surroundings of Cassetti in Florence. Until 28 October next, the refined spaces of the shop on the Ponte Vecchio, one of the world's most famous bridges and a symbol of fine craftsmanship, will host a wide selection of Vacheron Constantin timepieces from the Overseas collection, the horological embodiment of the spirit of travel. The exhibition will offer visitors and aficionados a privileged perspective on the iconic Overseas collection, launched in 1996 and starring in 2016 in a major project on an international scale that has made it a genuine benchmark among Vacheron Constantin creations. "This place full of charm and history is the ideal setting to offer a retrospective on the Overseas collection"says Marco Pagani, Brand Manager Vacheron Constantin Italy. "Ponte Vecchio is daily the crossroads of countless travellers who explore the world with a curious gaze and eager for new knowledge. The Overseas collection is inspired by this approach of openness, and this place allows us to display it at its best in its peculiarity". "It is a pleasure and a source of pride to be ambassadors of Vacheron Constantin, Geneva's watchmaking excellence"declares Filippo Cassetti. "We therefore strongly wanted to dedicate an important space to show and share the technical and romantic aspects of these magnificent and extraordinary timepieces". As part of the exhibition, two meetings will be held by Professor Ugo Pancani, one of the most accredited experts in the world of watchmaking, on the theme of "World Time", one of the most refined watchmaking complications. The excursus will retrace the most significant stages from 1932, the year of the introduction of the first World Time model, attributed to Vacheron Constantin, to the present day, with an in-depth look at the World Time models, which are transversal to certain Vacheron Constantin collections. From the classic design of the Traditionnelle collection to the casual elegance of the Overseas collection, the theme of travel will take centre stage, enriched by the contents of the extraordinary collaboration with Steve McCurry, the world-renowned photographer involved in the Overseas Tour, a twelve-stage world tour with Vacheron Constantin's technical and aesthetic excellence at its heart.
