Founded in 1992, Franck Muller celebrated its first 25 years in business this year. In particular, a gala evening was held last 17 January, during the 2017 edition of the WPHH (World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie), the traditional event at which the Swiss watchmaker presents its novelties. This year, the various models presented included the Cintrée Curvex 25th Anniversary, a special edition that pays tribute to the Cintrée Curvex case, perhaps the most iconic of those designed by the Swiss master watchmaker. In this special edition, the entire case, which is made of 18-carat gold, is decorated with the equally famous Arabic numeral hour markers typical of Franck Muller production, which have first been engraved and then covered with ceramic. On the enamel dial, the same Arabic numeral indices naturally appear as well as the celebratory 25th anniversary logo at 6 o'clock. The Cintrée Curvex 25th Anniversary is powered by an IWC-manufactured calibre, the FM0800 (158 components, 21 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 42-hour power reserve), a self-winding mechanical movement.
