Girard-Perregaux supported the sixth edition of the 'Steve Nash Foundation Showdown' in New York, a charity football match organised by multiple NBA (National Basketball Association) MVP Steve Nash. During the match, professional football and basketball players competed against each other, joining forces to support the work of the Steve Nash Foundation in supporting disadvantaged children. In addition to Steve Nash, professionals such as Massimo Ambrosini (AC Milan) and Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls) played alongside many others: the former received a lifetime achievement award from the Maison; the latter was honoured as the best player of the match. Both received a Chrono Hawk watch, which perfectly describes the athletic nature of this special sports day, thanks to its facetted steel case and rubber strap. After the game, held at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on Manhattan's Lower East Side, Steve Nash, players, friends and fans gathered at the 'After Hour' Showdown at The Penny Farthing for a private cocktail reception and charity auction, during which 100% of the proceeds went to benefit the Steve Nash Foundation's services for children around the world. This sponsorship underlines Girard-Perregaux's continued dedication to the world of sport and charity. Other tributes paid to Steve Nash by Girard-Perregaux include a 1966 Complete Calendar for his charitable activities through the foundation of the same name.
