Girard-Perregaux celebrates Pedro Almódovar

GP_LD_Almodovar_SabyMaviel2Girard-Perregaux, partner of the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon for the second year in a row, honoured director Pedro Almodóvar, winner of the 2014 Lumière Award. The prize was established to celebrate outstanding filmmakers in Lyon, the city where cinema was invented thanks to brothers Louis and Auguste Lumière, and where their first film, Workers Leaving the Factory of 1895, was shot. Almodóvar started his career in the early 1980s and has since directed 19 films. During the award ceremony, Girard-Perregaux honoured him by presenting him with a Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945, underlining the crucial role that time plays in his films, constantly transforming his characters, their desires and their nature.
