Girard-Perregaux is celebrating one of its best-known models with the presentation of two new Classic Bridges models in rose gold, available in a 45 mm version designed for more robust wrists, or for more discreet elegance with a 40 mm diameter. With the perfect mastery of the aesthetic language that distinguishes Girard-Perregaux creations, the new Classic Bridges offer an unprecedented interpretation of the iconic gold bridges that have marked the Maison's history. Two arrow-shaped bridges highlight the architectural symmetry of the movement, which can be admired through a partially skeletonised dial. To "animate" these two watches, the Manufacture has developed an automatic movement revealing an excellent level of finishing and decoration. Sober and refined, the two Classic Bridges 45 mm and 40 mm in pink gold once again impose their signature style on the contemporary watchmaking scene. A simple glance - without any explanation or comment - is sometimes enough to grasp the origins of a creation, to trace its history. This is the case with watches bearing the famous Girard-Perregaux gold bridges. Since the invention of the emblematic Tourbillon with three gold bridges, the Manufacture has continued the saga of these technical elements that have become an essential part of the elegant aesthetic that characterises its entire range of watches. One year after the launch of the Neo Bridges, which offers a highly contemporary interpretation of the famous gold bridges, the Bridges collection now welcomes two interpretations with classically inspired accents, once again celebrating the perfect fusion of design and mechanics. Although there are 'only' two of the famous bridges, their arrow-shaped silhouette testifies to their noble origins. Stretched vividly against the dial of the new Classic Bridges, the gold bridges symbolise a formal and symbolic link between epochs. Beneath the gold bridges lies a revelation of pure horological technique. Arranged in perfect symmetry, the micro-rotor and barrel, placed at 10:30 and 1:30 respectively, partially reveal the arcana of the automatic movement. As Haute Horlogerie is also and above all a question of details, Girard-Perregaux has paid particular attention to the decoration of the movement created entirely in-house. Visible through the sapphire glass back, it testifies to an excellent level of finishing. The dial makes an even more impressive spectacle, revealing the two bevelled, rounded, mirror-polished and satin-finished gold bridges, which show the results of the expert and patient work required to achieve aesthetic perfection and complete the watchmaking technique as an essential part of the design. In terms of design, the new Classic Bridgesswere conceived to be worn every day. The ergonomics of the case, in both versions, and the particular shape of the lugs, extended by an elegant black alligator strap, emphasise comfort. True to the Girard-Perregaux DNA, the new 45 mm and 40 mm Classic Bridges represent the next chapter in the history of a great icon of traditional watchmaking. Immediately recognisable, following the unmistakable Tourbillon with three gold bridges, these new timepieces celebrate Girard-Perregaux's heritage with a blend of vigour and boldness. A new classic inspired by over two centuries of experience and a tireless quest for perfection.
