A mechanism for measuring time with a design that goes beyond mere mechanical measurement. The Vintage 1945 XXL collection combines established techniques with an essential aesthetic that enhances the time displays to the fullest. These two new models are made of steel: one displays the big date and moon phases, the other its chronograph functions. Both join a line that has succeeded in imposing its unmistakable style right from the start. The anthracite grey colour of the dial is softened by a vertical satin-finished decoration, while the steel bracelet with its contemporary look alternates polished and satin-finished motifs in its elegant links. The bracelet can be extended thanks to the steel folding clasp, which is equipped with a safety clasp. The velvety surface of the dial is enhanced by the discreet relief of the applied Breguet numerals and the counters, decorated with a circular motif. The Vintage 1945 Grand Date and Moon Phase model displays not only the hours and minutes, but also the date and the lunations. Located at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively, the large date and moon phases can be seen from opposite sides of the dial. The date is displayed via two very thin discs, one for the tens and the other for the units. The date changes within an imperceptible ten-thousandth of a second. The Vintage 1945 XXL Chronograph model follows the same idea. The linear aesthetic typical of this collection is well represented by the two counters placed at 3 and 9 o'clock. Their rhodium-plated brass hands match the central seconds hand, while the hour and minute hands retain their Dauphine-style facetted shape. The rectangular steel case, emblematic of the collection, is ergonomic despite its generous proportions. The two new Girard-Perregaux watches beat to the rhythm of the GP03300 calibre, whose fine craftsmanship is visible through the sapphire crystal back. It was designed, manufactured and assembled in the workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
