The Quasar Infrared, a watch made in one piece, is a tribute to the Chinese New Year. The use of the colour red is intended to evoke feelings such as vitality, energy and prosperity. On this subject, Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Girard-Perregaux, said: "We wanted to create a watch that conveys vitality and arouses thoughts of good luck and positivity. In Chinese culture, it is the colour red that arouses these feelings. The Quasar Infrared combines red details with transparency and iconic shapes, as well as our distinctive Three Bridges. On the one hand, this creation stands out for its modernity, but on the other hand, it is rooted in Girard-Perregaux's long experience, accumulated over its more than 230 years of history. The sapphire crystal case of the Quasar Infrared has a diameter of 46 mm and employs a box-type sapphire crystal to protect the dial that is visible from the movement. The latter, equipped with a tourbillon device and the three famous bridges (in this case also made of sapphire), is the GP09400-1439 calibre (36 mm in diameter, 9.54 mm thick, 260 components, 21,600 vib/h, 27 jewels, power reserve of at least 60 hours), mechanical with automatic winding. Speaking of the tourbillon device, it should be noted that its cage, weighing a mere 0.25 grams, is composed of 79 components. The strap, obviously red, is made of calfskin. The watch comes with an additional alligator strap, also in red.
