Guillaume Néry brand ambassador of Officine Panerai

PANERAI AMBASSADOR_GUILLAUME NERY_PROTRAIT_5Guillaume Néry, the French freediving champion who has broken four world records and won two world championships in constant weight freediving, is Officine Panerai's new brand ambassador. The two-year partnership with Officine Panerai debuts with the Panerai Traits project, in which Guillaume Néry stars in the third chapter of the series dedicated to the historical link between Panerai and the world of the sea. In the video, online at www.paneraitraits.com and on Guillaume Néry and Panerai's social media, Néry himself recounts in words and spectacular images his passion and talent by diving in the waters of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the bay near his hometown of Nice where Guillaume grew up and set his own records. Since breaking his first world record at the age of just 20, by freediving to a depth of 87 metres, Guillaume Néry has raised the limits of this discipline several times. In 2015, he reached the incredible depth of 139 metres, 10 metres more than the organising committee recorded due to an error. This dive, in the course of which Guillaume lost consciousness shortly before rising to the surface, will nevertheless be remembered as the deepest freedive in history even if it is not recorded in the world records. In 2015, Guillaume Néry retired from competition and has since dedicated himself to spreading his passion for the sea through meetings, training and expeditions around the world. The underwater images created by Guillaume Néry are among the most famous ever made and some of his videos made in collaboration with his wife - Narcose, Ocean Gravity, Free Fall e Runningcreated for the American singer Beyoncé - have reached hundreds of millions of views, helping to make the world aware not only of his work but also of his philosophy. Diving as narrated by Guillaume Néry is an interior experience, a means of exploring the sea but also of getting to know oneself, confronting danger, abandonment, and acceptance of the psychological and climatic pressures that the seabed demands. On his wrist, Guillaume chose to wear the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanium PAM1389, a model from Panerai's Divers Professional watch collection, which is water-resistant to a depth of 300 metres.
