Happy Birthday Jack Heuer!

To honour the 88th birthday of its former CEO and current Honorary Chairman, Jack Heuer, the La Chaux-de-Fonds-based company is launching a limited edition of a vintage model: the Heuer Carrera 1158CHN, Jack's favourite. Made in only 188 pieces, the new TAG Heuer chronograph features an 18K pink gold case, the material he chose for the watches he gave to Ferrari Formula 1 drivers, including Ronnie Peterson, Niki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni, during the period of Heuer's partnership with Ferrari. The timepiece also bears its motto "Time never stands still, why should we?" on the oscillating weight of the movement used: Calibre Heuer 02, manufactured in-house, with 168 components and an 80-hour power reserve. The model is faithful to the aesthetics of the original: only the two brushed inner counters with soleil effect, at 3 and 9 o'clock, which reproduce the infinity symbol, in homage to the number 88, are distinguished by their contrasting black colour, a clear nod to the racing watches of the time. The continuous seconds counter at 6 o'clock, non-existent in the original version, blends in with the dial, tone on tone. The outline of the redesigned date display and hands of a size adapted to those of the hour markers complete the look. The black alligator leather strap bears Jack Heuer's signature in gold letters. The Carrera Chronograph Jack Heuer Birthday Gold Limited Edition is already available for pre-order and will be available in TAG Heuer boutiques and online from March 2021.
