Harry Winston - Opus 14

Harry Winston presented the fourteenth chapter of the Opus collection, which combines mechanical innovation with a playful dimension. The brainchild of independent watchmakers Franck Orny and Johnny Girardin, the same ones who designed Montblanc's Metamorphosis in 2010, Opus 14 reveals four sapphire crystal discs that recall the structure of a jukebox in miniature. Each one, moved by complete back-and-forth cycles, offers a specific display: local time, GMT time, the date and a star bearing Harry Winston's signature and reminiscent of the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Certified by Blancpain, as explained by Nayla Hayek, the brand's CEO, during the press presentation, the Opus is powered by the HW4601 calibre (patented), a hand-wound mechanical movement housed inside an 18-carat gold case with a generous diameter of 54.7 millimetres. The exclusive timepiece, which took over three years to make, is in a limited edition of 50. Price: 438,000 Swiss francs.
