On 28 September 2013, in Monaco, Harry Winston will participate in the Only Watch charity auction organised by the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy (AMM) under the patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. Aware of the seriousness of this disease and eager to confirm its commitment to children, the Maison Harry Winston has designed and produced an exceptional watch for this exclusive event: the Harry Winston Only Watch 2013 Midnight Big Date. The fifth edition of Only Watch, the world's largest charity watch auction, will showcase an extraordinary array of watches made by 40 of the industry's leading watchmakers. At the end of an international touring exhibition that touched down in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, New York and Geneva, the auction will take place at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco, under the auspices of the auction house Antiquorum. Only Watch is particularly close to Harry Winston's heart. By supporting research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a degenerative neuromuscular disease that affects 250,000 children, adolescents and young adults worldwide, the brand confirms its commitment to children and life. True to the legacy and spirit of its founder, the Maison is involved in philanthropic initiatives through the Harry Winston Hope Foundation that supports education activities worldwide. This year, Harry Winston is dedicating an exclusive model from the Midnight Collection to Only Watch, the Only Watch Midnight Big Date. Featuring a bezel with the three famous arches of New York's Harry Winston boutique on Fifth Avenue, the case is made of rose gold. Its 42-millimetre diameter houses a mechanical self-winding movement comprising 297 components, with a pink gold skeleton rotor, hand-grained and hand-bevelled, visible through the sapphire crystal back. Equipped with a 72-hour power reserve, this model is characterised by an intrinsic visual balance that lends the ensemble both elegance and legibility. It houses a black dial with a large snailed decoration, which moves outwards like an off-centre ripple. In keeping with Harry Winston's aesthetic codes, there is an off-centre hour circle at noon, embellished with an emerald-cut diamond at 12 o'clock.
