Harry Winston: variations on a theme

Harry Winston presents three new coloured variants of the Project Z11 with a 42.2 mm case made of Zalium and produced in 50 pieces each.

Harry Winston Project Z11The first model in the Project Z series by Harry Winston was born in 2004, and was made of an innovative, state-of-the-art material, Zalium. This zirconium-based alloy, Harry Winston's proprietary creation, is ultra-light and incredibly corrosion-resistant. The Project Z11, the eleventh model in the Project Z series, was launched in 2017 and is offered this year in three new, eye-catching colours that highlight the technical and architectural side of this watch.

Like the other models in Harry Winston's Project Z series, the Project Z11 draws its design inspiration from New York's Manhattan Bridge. In particular, Project Z11 is inspired by the towers and steel trusses of the iconic suspension bridge and features horizontal bridges spanning the dial and supporting the off-centre hour and minute disc at 12 o'clock, as well as the large double date window at 6 o'clock. Below the suspended hour and date displays appears a rhodium-plated 'platform', decorated with radiating côtes de Genève, which start from the axis of the hour and minute hands and reach the periphery of the dial.

The white gold hour markers are applied on the edge of a black grid and have a black luminescent coating and, depending on the variant, a blue, beige or turquoise end-piece, in combination with the hour and minute hands. At 12 o'clock is the Harry Winston logo in 18-carat gold, which also becomes luminescent in the dark, as are the date numerals and its frame. In addition to the hours and minutes, the black grid at 12 o'clock houses a small seconds hand in the shape of a Shuriken.

The second variant combines dark blue bridges, beige luminescent accents and a khaki alligator strap with black rubber trim. Finally, the third variant presents a lively palette with red bridges, turquoise highlights and a grey alligator strap with black rubber trim.
