Hermès Behind the Scenes

A travelling festival of savoir-faire created in 2011, "Hermès Dietro le Quinte" will be at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome from 8 to 16 March 2019. On this occasion, craftsmen from ten trades of the Parisian Maison come to the city to meet the public, show and share their expertise. In a space of approximately 1,000 square metres, a pathway of ten modules dedicated to each individual savoir-faire allows visitors to discover the talent of the hands that transform matter by creating bags, saddles, bobs, ties, jewellery, watches, gloves and porcelain. Thanks to the virtual reality of a 360° film, visitors can also discover the secrets of the master craftsmen of the Saint-Louis glassworks, a Maison founded in 1586 and acquired by Hermès in 1989. During the exhibition, a programme of meetings and round tables will enable the public to explore themes related to innovation and the transmission of knowledge. Free entrance. Opening hours: Friday 8 March, from 4pm to 8pm; 9 to 16 March, from 12pm to 8pm; Monday 11 March closed.
