Last Friday, the long-awaited UEFA EURO 2020 European Football Championship finally kicked off, an event initially planned for last year, but which, due to the pandemic, was postponed until this year To celebrate this major competition Hublot has unveiled the Big Bang and UEFA EURO 2020 connected watch, which allows football fans to keep up to date with the competition by wearing their own 'virtual stadium' on their wrist. This partnership between Hublot and the most important events in world football at national team level began in 2018, at the FIFA World Cup held in Russia. Today, Hublot is back with a new model, available in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces. "Hublot loves football! Such a long wait can only increase our joy! The simultaneous launch of the new Big Bang and UEFA EURO 2020 watch and the new 'Hublot Fusion Podcast' allows the entire football world to connect in the run-up to the much-anticipated UEFA EURO 2020 Championship. Thanks to the sophistication of our technology, we are bringing people together around the noble values of sport," said Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. For the first time in history, the European Football Championship will take place in 11 cities in 11 different countries. The bezel of the watch bears the colours of the flags of the 12 nations initially scheduled to host the competition. Aesthetically, it features the characteristics of the iconic Big Bang model and, to offer greater ergonomics, is offered in a 42 mm case (water-resistant to 3 atmospheres) made of Black Magic, the polished black ceramic developed by Hublot engineers. The sapphire crystal allows use of the high-definition AMOLED touch screen and the rotating crown with push-button facilitates selection of the various functions. Inside is an electronic module developed in collaboration with other maisons in the LVMH group, which functions thanks to Google's WearOS software. Adapted and perfected to meet Hublot's needs through an application dedicated to football, it makes it possible to follow the competition in real time. The watch offers the possibility to follow the timing from kick-off to the end of the match, but also to receive notifications on cards awarded, penalties and goals, substitutions made, team line-ups and much more. Fans can also download free of charge from the Google Play Store platform the dials with the colours of their own country, an offer that is not compatible with other connected watches on the market, because they are specially developed for the Big Bang e. The watch is fitted with a rubber strap with a titanium and ceramic folding clasp; however, you can buy other straps in your team colours and easily replace it thanks to the One Click system developed by Hublot. For the UEFA EURO 2020 European Championship, Hublot will equip all referees at the competition with a special version of the Big Bang, which can be connected to Goal-line technology and the VAR video control system. In addition, Hublot recently launched a series of podcasts called 'Hublot Fusion Podcasts'. Presented by French sports journalist Anne-Laure Bonnet, the 12 episodes will include interviews with football legends, as well as Hublot friends and ambassadors, and will focus on the 12 universal values of victory: solidarity, unity, passion, commitment, inclusion, equality, friendship, justice, respect, fair play, tolerance and sharing.
