Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Nicky Jam

Hublot unveiled in Miami the Big Bang Meca-10 Nicky Jam, a model available in three versions, designed in collaboration with urban music icon singer Nicky Jam, Hit Parade star and brand ambassador. "Hublot loves Art! Words that today are enriched with a double meaning, as we honour the music of our ambassador Nicky Jam by presenting this new model with a party in the setting of a Miami entirely dedicated to painting, sculpture and street art exhibitions. Art, party, fusion, passion... We are in our universe!" said Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. Last June, Nicky Jam became a Hublot ambassador: after breaking through in 2015 thanks to the song "El Loser", this summer he made the whole world sing along with "Live it up", the official FIFA 2018 FIFA World Cup anthem, held in Russia, a competition for which Hublot is the official timekeeper. As if that wasn't enough, his single "X (Equis)" simultaneously pulverised all the ratings, quickly reaching 1.4 billion views on YouTube. "What a privilege to be able to wear a Swiss watchmaking masterpiece with my initials on my wrist today! The common point with my music? Behind every great success, be it a watch or a song, there is a huge amount of work that is the result of the effort of an entire team,' said the American singer. It was in front of an audience of selected guests that Hublot honoured the talent of Nicky Jam during an evening at the Temple House in Miami. For the occasion, the prestigious building in the heart of the South Beach district was decked out in light: the façade as well as the interior walls served as a screen for an artistic video mapping animation featuring films and photographs. It was in this sumptuous setting that Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the brand, warmly thanked Nicky for joining the Hublot family and unveiled the first fruit of this collaboration: the Big Bang Meca-10 Nicky Jam watches. These are offered in three different versions based on the Swiss brand's iconic Big Bang. With a diameter of 45 mm, they are driven by the entirely in-house HUB1201 calibre, whose innovative construction allows a glimpse from the dial of the complex and original 10-day power reserve mechanism, hence the model's name, MECA-10. For the first time, the model is skeletonised and gold-plated, resulting in a completely new look. The case and bezel of the first version are made of Hublot's famous black ceramic. In the other two versions, the dial also features the singer's logo composed of his initials NJ at 12 o'clock. The caseback glass bears his autograph and allows one to admire the watch movement. The second model makes use of a warm colour, dear to Nicky Jam's heart, namely gold. The case, bezel and crown are crafted in King Gold, an alloy of gold, copper and platinum developed by Hublot. It is set with semi-precious stones (yellow and orange sapphires and tsavorites) that echo the three basic colours of the 'X (Equis)' video clip. The third model, finally, shines with a thousand lights: this piece of haute joaillerie has a King Gold case, a bezel, an NJ logo and indexes studded with baguette diamonds, which are also found on the strap buckle. In total, no less than 307 diamonds adorn this watch, totalling an impressive 16.9 carats. All three watches are delivered with two straps, easily interchangeable thanks to the patented One Click system: in black Alcantara or alligator coloured red, yellow and green, again the colours of 'X (Equis)', a song that Nicky Jam naturally sang during the evening.
