On 11 January, Hublot presented the Classic Fusion "La Grande Odyssée 2017" in Megéve. This is a limited and numbered edition of 100 pieces in tribute to La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc, a legendary sled dog race through Haute Savoie, of which Hublot is a partner for the third year running. From 7 to 18 January 2017, participants in this modern epic cross the snowy peaks of French Savoy in a 10-stage route totalling over 1,000 gruelling kilometres.
At the end of the Megève stage, on the rink in the centre of the mountain resort, Stéphane Lambiel, a friend of the Hublot brand, two-time world champion and vice Olympic figure skating champion, demonstrated all his talent in an ice show. At the end of the second short programme, the skater's final pirouette unveiled the Classic Fusion "La Grande Odyssée". The combination of blue dial and titanium case evokes the contrast between the whiteness of snow and the blue of the sky. The compass rose at three o'clock serves as a continuous seconds dial.
