Hublot presents the Big Bang Unico Red Carbon Alex Ovechkin, a tribute to its Friend of Brand, Russian ice hockey champion. The watch sports a lightweight carbon fibre case reinforced with red glass microfibres to evoke the national flag of "The Great Eight", as Ovechkin is affectionately nicknamed because of his jersey number, and the very jersey he wears as captain of the Washington Capitals. Also in red is the Velcro strap. This new Big Bang features other personalisation elements: to recall his jersey number, the 'Great Eight' logo stands out at 8 o'clock on the dial, while the sapphire crystal case back bears the champion's signature. Finally, another special element is the tip of the chronograph hand, which is finished in red, white and blue: a tribute, once again, to the colours of the Russian flag and those of the Washington Capitals. Equipped with the IWC-manufactured 1242 automatic chronograph movement, with a column wheel on the side of the dial, the watch is a limited edition of only 100 pieces. It is sold with a second black rubber strap and a hockey puck signed by Ovechkin.
