Let's talk again about the auction last 25 October organised by Patrizzi & Cowhich we reported on a few days ago on our blog. Held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Geneva, it was attended by around sixty watch enthusiasts from all over the world, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America. Forty-five were those who signed up online while others participated with telephone bids that ensured good results. Two auction sessions were held, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, which resulted in the sale of the 70% of the 253 lots present at the sale of a remarkable 6,345,600 Swiss francs. "Today there was a change in the market," said Osvaldo Patrizzi. "The auction room was overflowing with enthusiasm, which was reflected in the excellent results achieved - clearly confidence is returning. Among the particularly successful brands were Cartier, Rolex, Panerai and Patek Philippe; among the modern pieces Ulysse Nardin and TAG Heuer. Highly prized and coveted were the historical specimens, which fetched excellent prices: Cartier's Art Deco table clock, 'chinoiserie' travel clock and Mysterious Barometer; a monocle with Piguet & Capt. musical automaton; a rare ladies' set combining a savonette watch, brooch, earrings, ring and choker-chain, dated 1860.
