The Double-Time U-Boat

U-Boat unveils the new 1938 Doppiotempo range. Presented for the first time last year, based on a model originally created for the Italian army's paratrooper assault regiment, the Col Moschin, the watch is now being released in two more versions, expanding the collection that began with a special edition of 200 pieces. The 43 mm case in satin-brushed steel is fitted with two crowns, one for setting the time and date, the other for adjusting the "double-time" or dual-time function via the rotating inner bezel. Featuring an ultra-curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, it is fitted with a Swiss-made self-winding movement with a 44-hour power reserve and a skeleton rotor visible through a bronzed sapphire crystal on the caseback closed with eight screws. A vintage-style timepiece, the 1938 Double Time features a green or black dial (therein lies the difference between the two models) with SuperLuminova-treated beige numerals, hands and hour markers, a 24-hour indicator and a red second time zone hand. Both versions have a green calfskin leather strap with engraving and a steel pin buckle.
