The A. Lange & Söhne pluricomplicate

The new Tourbograph Perpetual Honeygold "Homage to FA Lange" is in a limited edition of 50, created to mark the 175th anniversary of A. Lange & Söhne. A masterpiece of superlative technique, the watch is equipped with a split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, tourbillon and spindle and chain drive system: the latter two together compensate for the two major disturbing factors in a mechanical watch, such as the force of gravity and the falling energy curve of the mainspring, thus contributing to increased stability and precision. The Honeygold case in honey-coloured gold with a diameter of 43 millimetres frames a dial made of the same material but subjected to a special black rhodium treatment that gives the surface a grey tone and granular texture. The three sub-dials in the upper half stand out: at 12, the moon phase indicator and the date, at 3 the months and leap year, and at 9 the 30-minute chrono totaliser and the day of the week. Finally, at 6 is the tourbillon cage held in place by a curved bridge. At the heart of the watch is a hand-wound mechanical movement, calibre L133.1, with 684 components and black rhodium engravings and inscriptions for a three-dimensional effect that can be admired through the sapphire crystal opening in the case back.
