The Chanel Salon

Many novelties were presented by Chanel at Watches and Wonders 2021. First and foremost is the sensational Boy-Friend Squelette X-Ray, with its sapphire-cut case and bezel that completely exposes the skeleton, hand-wound Chanel manufacture calibre 3, with around 55 hours of power reserve. The matching strap, in a brilliant black colour, is made of calfskin. Further embellishing this exclusive piece, limited to 100 pieces, are five baguette-cut diamonds on the white gold crown. The Show was also the occasion for the launch of the new capsule collection, composed of precious models united by a rainbow of bright and intense nuances. The J12 Electro Dream, available in two versions with a case in white ceramic and white gold or black ceramic and black DLC-coated steel, is embellished on the bezel by the presence of 46 baguette-cut sapphires in multiple colour shades. The same colour range is echoed on the dial, with the 12 hourmarkers also in baguette-cut sapphires. Both, in a limited edition of 55 pieces each, are powered by Calibre 12.1, an in-house self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of around 70 hours. On the other hand, the J12 X-Ray Electro - only 12 pieces available - is equipped with Calibre 3.1, an IWC-manufactured manual movement with sapphire bridges and plate and a power reserve of around 55 hours, whose gears are visible through the dial. Made with a sapphire and white gold case, it also features 46 baguette-cut sapphires on the bezel and 12 on the hourmarkers for an undeniably fascinating effect. Standing out from these three models is perhaps the most unusual of all, the 12-piece limited edition of the J12 Electro Star in white gold and diamonds, with a total of 267 baguette-cut coloured sapphires set not only on the case middle and on the side of the bracelet links, visible as soon as the watch is fastened to the wrist, but also on the oscillating weight of the 12.1 calibre, an in-house mechanical self-winding movement, which provides a power reserve of up to around 70 hours.
