Information on the use of cookies
The https://www.orologioblog.net website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure that procedures work correctly and to improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, how they are used by DG Edizioni 2012 and how to manage them.
Definitions
Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store on the client (the browser) information to be re-used during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or afterwards, even days later (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Similar technologies, such as, for instance, web beacons, transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information on user behaviour and the use of services.
In the remainder of this document we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies by simply using the term 'cookies'.
Types of cookies
Depending on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are indispensable for the correct functioning of DG Edizioni 2012 websites and are used to manage login and access to the sites reserved functions. The duration of the cookies is strictly limited to the work session (once the browser is closed they are deleted). They are aimed at recognising, for this limited period, the visitor's computer - through an alphanumeric code generated at the first access session - in order to propose him/her the result of the test carried out by the user. Their deactivation compromises the use of the services accessible by login. The public part of the website remains normally usable.
- Analysis and performance cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyse site traffic and usage anonymously. While these cookies do not identify the user, they do, for example, allow us to detect if the same user returns at different times. They also make it possible to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. These cookies can be deactivated without any loss of functionality.
- Profiling cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) the user's preferences and improve their browsing experience. DG Edizioni 2012 and the OrologioBlog.net website do not use cookies of this type.
Third-party cookies
When visiting the OrologioBlog.net website, one can receive cookies both from the site visited ('owners') and from sites operated by other organisations ('third parties'). A notable example is the presence of 'social plugins' for Facebook, Twitter and Google+. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by these sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plugins is for the purpose of sharing content on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relevant policies to which please refer. For the sake of transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the different policies and cookie management methods are listed below.

Google Analytics
The OrologioBlog.net website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Again, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses "cookies" to anonymously collect and analyse information on website usage behaviour (including the user's IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it for the purpose of compiling reports for the operators of DG Edizioni 2012 regarding activity on the OrologioBlog.net website. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google's analytics tool to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate IP addresses with any other data held by Google nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a user's identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

You can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on your browser. To disable the action of Google Analytics, please refer to the link below:

Duration of cookies
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until you close the browser or the execution of the logout. Other cookies 'survive' the browser and are also available on subsequent visits by the user.
These cookies are called persistent and their duration is fixed by the server when they are created. In some cases an expiry date is set, in others the duration is unlimited.
DG Edizioni 2012 does not use persistent cookies.
However, by navigating the pages of the OrologioBlog.net website, you may interact with sites managed by third parties that may create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
Managing Cookies
Users can decide whether or not to accept cookies by using the settings on their browser.
Attention: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may affect the use of the site functionalities reserved for registered users. On the contrary, the usability of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies.
Disabling 'third-party' cookies does not affect navigability in any way.
The setting can be defined specifically for different sites and web applications. Furthermore, the best browsers allow different settings for 'proprietary' and 'third-party' cookies.
As an example, in Firefox, through the menu Tools->Options->Privacy, it is possible to access a control panel where it is possible to define whether or not to accept different types of cookies and to proceed to their removal.
