The new look of the Balancier Contemporain
by Greubel Forsey

Following the white gold version in 2019, the Balancier Contemporain is now available with a 5N red gold case and a multi-level dial rich in contrasts. With a diameter of just 39.6 millimetres, in contrast to Greubel Forsey timepieces with more generous measurements, the watch attracts the eye for its large balance at 6 o'clock above a mirror-polished bridge that lends great depth to the movement, a hand-wound mechanical movement with 255 components and 21,600 vibrations per hour. In the upper level, a bevelled grené bridge allows a glimpse of the Greubel Forsey-engraved gilded barrel drum, surmounted by the 72-hour power reserve display with a blued steel hand. Further down, between 8 and 9 o'clock, moves the small seconds hand. At 2 o'clock, the hour indications are emphasised by a contrasting colour scheme: the off-centre hours and minutes dial is highlighted by a charcoal grey perimeter and crossed by blued steel hands supported by a raised bridge. The back houses an engraved round plate in red gold, surrounded by a white gold bridge on which the Maison's founding values, expressed in mirror-polished relief, and rubies in gold settings can be read.
