Recent news is the opening of the first European boutique Rolex in Paris, at 56 rue de Rennes, near the historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. The agreement signed by the crowned house with the prestigious Les Montres department store has led to the creation of a 78 square metre shop on two levels, with an equal number of windows facing directly onto the street and no less than 300 references in stock.
Of the second European Rolex boutique, in Milan, on the other hand, no details have yet been leaked, but it will certainly have a disruptive effect, to say the least, due to its size, location and partnership with a historic name in Milanese watchmaking. The most attentive among you already know who we are talking about, after all we gave a small preview of it a few issues ago, but we are still waiting for an official announcement. In the meantime, work has been going on in Via Montenapoleone since last year.
Certainly, as far as furnishings, materials and design are concerned, the interiors of the Milan boutique will follow those of the other Rolex flagship stores: floors in green Guatemalan marble, walls covered in leather, furniture in plane tree wood. Choices dictated by the precise desire to make the brand's sales outlets recognisable, so that the possible buyer or even the simple visitor can feel at "home in Rolex" wherever they are.
