Le Forban Sécurité Mer presents Marseillaise, a new diver's watch water-resistant to 25 atmospheres and with a dial available in two colours.
With the Marseillaise diver's watch, the French brand Le Forban Sécurité Mer is reminiscent of its Monnin model launched in 1979. There are many similarities but also many improvements: the case, made of steel and with a unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks (the ring is made of aluminium), is reduced from a diameter of 42 mm to the current 40.8, with a thickness of less than 12 mm, compared to the 13 mm of its predecessor.
Also renewed is the water resistance figure, which now stands at 250 metres instead of 200. An absolute novelty, however, is the Dive Bund rubber strap that can also be worn like a traditional strap by removing the central cushion (a steel bracelet is available for those who prefer it).
Marseillaise: two dials available
The new diver presented by Le Forban Sécurité Mer is powered by a Sellita SW200 automatic calibre.
Two dial colours are available: shaded sun blue or black. In both cases, the hands and indices are SuperLuminova luminescent (white in the first case and beige in the second), and at 3 o'clock there is a date window.
The glass protecting the dial is a flat sapphire crystal, while the crown (with sturdy protective shoulders) is screwed down, as is the case back, which is engraved with an embossed octopus. The new Marseillaise from Le Forban Sécurité Mer is driven by the Sellita SW200 calibre (28,800 vibrations per hour, 38-hour power reserve), a self-winding mechanical movement.
Finally, there are two options for attaching the Marseillaise to the wrist, i.e. the rubber strap with pin buckle or the steel bracelet with folding clasp.
Prices940 euros (with rubber strap); 990 euros (with steel bracelet).
