Longines is launching three new Legend Diver, one with a matt white dial and steel bracelet and two with blue or black rubber straps to match the dial colour.
Longines renews the Legend Diver collection with the introduction of a new variant with a matt white dial combined with a steel bracelet with rice-grain links. Alongside this model, the company also offers two new Legend Diver with rubber straps, blue or black, matching the colour of the dial.
In particular, the new opaque white dial creates a nice contrast with the indices (with SuperLuminova luminescent sectors) and hands (also luminescent), all in black, ensuring optimal readability in all conditions. In addition, new rubber straps in blue and black complete the offer, complementing the traditional steel bracelet with 'grain of rice' links."leather and nylon NATO straps.
The watch retains its 39 mm diameter by 12.7 mm thick steel case (perfect size for wrists of all sizes), with alternating polished and satin finishes. The convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment inside and out protects the dial, while the bidirectional rotating inner bezel (a solution introduced by Longines in 1936) remains the model's distinguishing feature, operated by the crown positioned at 2 o'clock.
Longines Legend Diver: automatic movement
The Longines L888.6 calibre (made by ETA exclusively for the company, a brand owned by the Swatch Group just like Longines) is chronometer-certified after inspections by the Cosc.
The Legend Diver by Longines is driven by the calibre L888.6 (made by ETA for Longines, 25,200 vibrations per hour, 72-hour power reserve, Cosc chronometer), automatic mechanical, equipped with a silicon balance spring and magnetic resistance ten times higher than the ISO 764 reference standard. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 30 atmospheres (300 metres depth).
Since 1959, the year the first model was launched, the Longines Legend Diver has written important pages in the history of diving watches. The rotating inner bezel, as mentioned innovation introduced by Longines in 1936, has inspired numerous brands in the industry. In the 1970s, this watch was also used by the Royal Australian Navy, testifying to its reliability in extreme conditions.
The contemporary design of the Legend Diver combines tradition and modernity. The rubber straps with pin buckle guarantee comfort and safety, both in diving and in everyday life. The steel bracelet, on the other hand, features a folding clasp with safety push-buttons and a micro-adjustment system. Finally, these watches are covered by an impressive five-year warranty.
Prices3,450 euros (rubber strap); 3,800 euros (steel bracelet).
