Louis Vuitton - The 'A Tale of Costumes' Art Project

Louis Vuitton presents "A Tale of Costumes", an artistic project scheduled until 31 March 2016 involving, for the first time around the same theme, both of the Maison's cultural spaces in Italy: the Espace Louis Vuitton in Venice and the Spazio Etoile Louis Vuitton in Rome. The common thread is costume as a means of expression in society in the past, in contemporary art and in cinema. The Espace Louis Vuitton Venice tells, through three outfits, stories of different eras, people and places in the setting of the Serenissima. Instead, the new film programme of Louis Vuitton's Spazio Etoile, curated by Laura Delli Colli with the contribution of Sartoria Tirelli, pays tribute to the history of sartorial costumes in cinema with the story of the great school of Italian costume designers: from Piero Tosi, Gabriella Pescucci, Maurizio Millenotti to Carlo Poggioli, Alessandro Lai and Massimo Cantini Parrini. The Spazio Etoile programme was celebrated with an exhibition, on 10 November only, of the extraordinary dresses created for the costume designers, including Piero Tosi's dress for Romi Schneider in 'Ludwig', Gabriella Pescucci's dress from 'The Borgias' and Alessandro Lai's dress for Margerita Buy in 'Magnifica Presenza'.
