To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding, Maurice Lacroix presents three limited editions of the 1975, in time-only, day-date and GMT versions.
Maurice Lacroix celebrates its 50th anniversary with the new 1975 Legacy collection, consisting of three models available in limited editions. Produced and assembled in the Saignelégier manufacture in the heart of the Franches-Montagnes, these timepieces embody fifty years of tradition and innovation.
Among them, the 1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue (limited edition of 888 pieces) features the distinctive Vagues du Jura motif on its dial, exclusive to Maurice Lacroix, depicting the hilly landscapes surrounding the manufacture. The Saignelégier blue dial, a historical shade rediscovered from the brand's archives, creates fascinating plays of light and depth. The watch mounts the ML155 automatic calibre (based on Sellita), with 56 hours of power reserve and visible through the sapphire crystal case back. With a 40 mm diameter by 9 mm thick steel case and a blue leather strap, the 1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue is water-resistant to 10 atmospheres.
The second limited edition model is the 1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green (limited edition 500 pieces, available from autumn 2025), which features the Vagues du Jura motif on the dial in the Sapin Green shade, inspired by the fir trees of the Saignelégier hills. This watch includes the day of the week display at 12 o'clock, in addition to the traditional hour, minute, seconds and date indications (at 3 o'clock).
In this case, the calibre used is the ML 168 (also based on Sellita), mechanical automatic and with a power reserve of 38 hours. The closed back is adorned with an engraving depicting two horses among fir trees, a tribute to the Franches-Montagnes horse breed. Complemented by a 5-link stainless steel bracelet, the 1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green is water-resistant to 5 atmospheres of pressure.
Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy Automatic GMT Silver Mist
The most exclusive of the three Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy limited editions is the one with the GMT function, the availability of which is only 200 pieces.
The most exclusive model in the collection features the GMT complication, serving to indicate a second time zone. The Silver Mist dial evokes hilly landscapes at sunrise, when silver mist envelops the view. The red-tipped skeleton GMT hand (combined with the 24-hour hour markers around the perimeter of the dial) indicates 'home time', an essential function for travellers. At 3 o'clock is the date window.
Animated by the ML165 automatic calibre (also based on Sellita) and combined with a black crocodile-effect leatherette strap, The 1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist by Maurice Lacroix is water-resistant to 5 atmospheres of pressure.
Finally, tall models in the 1975 Legacy collection share the use of a 40 mm steel case with alternating polished and brushed finish, of sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the Easy Strap Exchange system (for quick strap change) and are individually numbered. All the movements used have perlage and colimaçon decorations.
