From the ashes of Baselworld, HourUniverse is born. The MCH Group is launching a new hybrid platform dedicated to watchmaking, jewellery and precious stones. Over the past few weeks, the group has engaged in intensive and constructive discussions with exhibitors, visitors and representatives of the watch and jewellery communities. The focus was on assessing everyone's needs and thus the opportunities for a new forrmat. This gave rise to the idea of building a B2B2C meeting point, therefore also open to the consumer and all players in the distribution chain, traditional and online retailers, including those in the CPO sector (an acronym that stands for Certified Pre-Owned, i.e. "certified used"). Standing by their side, HourUniverse intends to build an extended ecosystem, which includes watch, jewellery and gemstone brands, but also developers of new distribution solutions, as well as outlets and other industry players: a diverse and interconnected world. The format is also dedicated to contemporary topics, such as smart and connected products, sustainability and circular business models, and enables a continuous exchange with end consumers. Of course, there will be no shortage of live meetings, which will take place in Basel in April 2021 (on a date aligned with Watches & Wonders). This will be an inclusive event, aiming to facilitate efficient networking to provide an all-round experience. To this customer-focused approach should be added a new hospitality concept, with competitive prices (finally!) supported by the local hotel industry, which will be an integral part of HourUniverse. Further updates will come during the summer.
