Nomos Glashütte: the new Orion neomatik new black

Nomos Glashütte launches three new 'total black' models, with black dial and strap and driven as usual by in-house calibres.

In perfect style Nomos Glashütteevery detail of the new black Orion neomatik collection exudes elegance and discretion: by the lenticular shape of the steel case (available in 36.4, 38.5 or 40.5 mm diameter), to the black, riveted leather strap made of Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan, to the gold and silver two-tone details on a galvanised black dial.

Orion neomatik new black: manufacture movements

All watches produced by Nomos Glashütte employ mechanical movements made in-house.

The inscription 'neomatik' on the dial refers to the use of the Manufacture automatic calibres DUW 3001 (for the three-ball models) and DUW 6101 (for the model with date window at 3 o'clock) high performance, visible through the sapphire crystal case back and equipped with a proprietary Swing-System escapement, bidirectional winding rotor.

The date display is patented, and can be quickly and easily adjusted in both directions. The glass protecting the dial is of the convex sapphire type, is anti-reflection-treated on the inside.

Discreet style, moderate thickness

All three Orion neomatik new blacks are less than 10 mm thick.

The thickness of the case is moderate, measuring just 8.5 mm for the model with a 36.4 mm case, 8.7 for that with a 38.5 mm case and 9.4 for the model with a 40.5 mm case. As well as the movement, the thickness of which is 3.2 mm for the DUW calibre 3001 and 3.6 mm for the DUW calibre 6101, very few being automatic calibres.

The power reserve is just over 40 hours for both calibres (42 hours for the DUW 6101 and 43 for the DUW 3001) and water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres for all three models.
