New inspiration for Grand Seiko

Grand Seiko's latest creation is characterised by an intricately textured dial. Its design draws inspiration from the tall, slender trunks and bark of the white birch trees that grow in the central and northern region of Japan and flourish near the Shizukuishi Studio, where all the brand's mechanical watches are made. The compact hands and prominent fluted hour markers ensure optimal legibility, while Zaratsu polishing, Grand Seiko's signature distortion-free mirror finish, and delicate brushing alternate and give the steel case a discreet lustre. This Hi-Beat timepiece is powered by the revolutionary 9SA5 calibre, with its inertial regulating balance with free hairspring, i.e. without a regulating racket, and new high-efficiency Dual Impulse escapement; visible through the sapphire crystal on the caseback, it provides an 80-hour power reserve. The Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36,000 will be available from March in the brand's boutiques and at selected retailers worldwide. Price: 9,500 euros.
