In 1993, Omega launched the Seamaster Diver 300M, introducing a very special metal: tantalum. As a tribute to its origins, this new version uses the same grey and blue-tinted metal for the base of the bezel, contrasting with the graduated Sedna gold ring and the titanium case and bracelet with central links in tantalum (framed in Sedna gold). A helium escape valve, water resistance to 300 metres and an extendible diving buckle confirm its status as a professional diver. At its heart is the Metas-certified 8806 Master Chronometer calibre.
