In just 4 hours 15 minutes and 43 seconds, all 2,012 pieces of the Omega #SpeedyTuesday, put on sale online, were sold in record time. For the first time, the brand promoted the sale of a timepiece online. The limited edition Speedmaster, launched to celebrate the #SpeedyTuesday online phenomenon, was made available for pre-order through Omega's social media channels on Tuesday, 10 January at 12 noon sharp. Just over 4 hours later all 2012 pieces were sold out.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of the brand, described the Speedmaster fans as "very fond of their favourite timepiece and loyal to the brand". Elated by such a rapid response, he added: "the feedback we have received from the community has been invaluable and is confirmation of our focus on customer needs.
