Watches & Charm - Second Edition

The second edition of 'Orologi & Charme', which took place at the Hotel Principi di Piemonte in Turin, ended a few days ago. The event was the Italian preview of the latest creations from 28 of the world's best-known watchmakers, presented by Buosi, Fagnola, Dematteis, Monticone and Ghigo, who for this edition decided to support the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. "The great influx of visitors - the exhibition was visited by more than 2,900 people - is a sign of how much interest the world of watchmaking arouses, especially if visitors are assisted directly by the workers of the manufacturers and their official dealers, professionals who are able to explain and transmit passion," emphasised Alessandro Buosi, organiser of the event. The source of the success of the second edition of Orologi & Charme were the exclusive exhibitions of Baume & Mercier, Omega, TAG Heuer, Rado and Panerai, as well as the meetings with master watchmakers. The Charme zone was greatly enriched in comparison with last year's edition and was a decisive element in this audience result. The event was also the stage for the launch of the Eccellenza Italiana project. This year, Orologi&Charme ended with a gala dinner in the ballroom of the Principi di Piemonte and a raffle where prizes offered by the event organisers and sponsors were raffled off. The proceeds were donated to the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro. The Foundation's board member and president of Committee 25, Marco Boglione, thanked the organisers: "We are fighting a tough battle," he said, "but we know that with everyone's help and support we will win it." The Organising Committee is already working on the second edition of Jewellery & Charme, which will again be held in the evocative rooms of the Principi di Piemonte in November 2011, while the third edition of Watches & Charme has already been confirmed for May 2012.
