Yesterday, the award ceremony for the Watch of the Year prize, now in its fifth edition, was held at the Fashion Café in Milan, Via San Marco. This important award carries on a tradition inaugurated by L'OROLOGIO magazine in 1994 and which since then has testified to the taste of Italian watch enthusiasts. The award formula saw the pre-selection of thirty-six timepieces, selected by the editorial staff from among the major market trends and divided into twelve categories: Solotempo, Chronograph, Underwater, Complicated Watch, Tourbillon, Technical, Design, Savoir-Faire, Ladies, Value for Money (in three price brackets). In addition, for the second year running, the members of L'Orologio Club, the exclusive circle of enthusiasts created by L'OROLOGIO magazine, were also invited to express their preference: thanks to the votes of the 58 members, the title of Watch of the Year was awarded to just one of the watches nominated.
