From the deep bond between Panerai and the world of the sea, born over a century ago with the first supplies of precision instruments to the navy, come the three new Luminor Yachts Challenge. These are three new chronographs with a strongly sporting vocation, endowed with excellent technical content and inspired by the uniqueness and beauty of classic sailing yachts. The new Luminor Yachts Challenge (available with a case in titanium, matt black ceramic or red gold) represent a tribute to the long "love story" between the world of the sea and Panerai, which, as a tribute to its past, has in recent years made an extraordinary contribution to safeguarding the culture of classic sails through the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge regattas. The tribute is explicit thanks to the initials PCYC on the dial and the silhouette of a sailing boat on the back, which is engraved on the titanium and ceramic models while in the gold chronograph it almost seems to float above the movement, thanks to the sapphire crystal porthole on which it is reproduced. All the Luminor Yachts Challenge models share the design of the iconic case with its device to protect the winding crown, the functions and characteristics of the P.9100 self-winding manufacture movement - flyback chronograph with three-day power reserve, seconds reset, speed calculation in knots using the tachometric scale on the flange, rapid time adjustment - and the creativity of the two-counter dial (small seconds at 9 o'clock and chronograph hours at 3 o'clock) with its sandwich structure, which is perfectly visible even in the dark. The three chronographs, on the other hand, are distinguished by the colour combinations of the dial and strap, which differ according to the material of the case but are all characterised by the presence of blue, the colour of the sea, and by certain details that give each individual watch a strong personality. The different materials used to make the Luminor case of the three models - titanium in the PAM00764, black zirconium oxide ceramic in the PAM00788, red gold in the PAM01020 - offer enthusiasts the choice between a more sporty and technical look or a more classic and precious one, but they are all of absolute technical excellence and are designed to guarantee great solidity, resistance to external agents and corrosion. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 100 metres (10 bar) for the ceramic and titanium, up to 50 metres (5 bar) in the gold model.
