Panerai presents a new Submersible in a chrono version, in a limited edition of only 35 pieces, combined with an exclusive Experience at the Stazione Aeronavale in Grottaglie, Puglia.
The new Submersible Chrono Marina Militare Experience Edition PAM01699 represents the latest evolution of the historic partnership between Panerai and the Italian Navy, a collaboration that has helped define the identity of the Florentine brand since the 1910s.
The history of Panerai military watches has its roots in the 1910s, when the Maison was commissioned by the Navy to design precision instruments for the special corps' most daring missions. Since the prototype with Ref. 2533 in 1935, Panerai has always demonstrated its ability to develop professional diver's watches.
This new chronograph with flyback function uses a grade 5 titanium case 47 mm, which guarantees lightness and strength, with a 40% weight reduction compared to steel. The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a matt black ceramic insert, while the matt green dial with black shaded finish is inspired by Naval Aviation equipment. On the dial, protected by sapphire crystal, additional counters are dedicated to continuous seconds (at 3 o'clock, with a design inspired by a radar) and chrono hours (at 9 o'clock). The hands, hour markers and reference marker on the bezel are luminescent SuperLuminova grade X2.

The new Submersible Chrono Navy Experience Edition PAM01699 celebrates the Naval Aviation, the Navy component that enhances the operational capabilities of the fleet with the support of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. This new partnership strengthens Panerai's bond with the Armed Forces.
The heart of the Submersible Chrono Navy Experience Edition is the P.9100/R automatic calibre (28,800 vibrations per hour, vertical coupling, 3-day power reserve, column wheel), equipped with five patented innovations. Composed of 332 components, this movement offers flyback chronograph functions (operated via pushers on the left side of the case), rapid time change (allowing the hour hand alone to be set to quickly set a new time zone) and countdown functions. The latter is set by means of the pusher at 4 o'clock, which each time it is pressed causes the chrono minute hand (located in the centre, as well as the chrono seconds hand) to move back one unit. It is then sufficient to start the countdown using the button at 10 o'clock.
Produced in only 35 examples, the Submersible Chrono Navy Experience Edition also offers lucky owners access to a unique experience at the Grottaglie Air Station in Puglia. Participants will be able to experience three days of military training and learn about operations through tactical simulations and helicopter missions. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to join the crew during flight activities and immerse themselves in the authentic atmosphere of Apulian culture.
This watch is guaranteed water-resistant to a pressure of 50 atmospheres. Every Panerai watch is tested at 25% beyond the stated pressure, ensuring total safety in deep dives. The strap is made of green cotton canvas with tone-on-tone stitching and a trapezoidal buckle in satin-finished titanium. In the package is a additional black rubber strap.
