The Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante, presented by Parmigiani Fleurier in 2023, changes its look thanks to the pale pink shade of the dial, a colouration called Arctic Rose and no longer reserved for women only. This tone is highlighted by the Grain d'Orge guilloché, the Maison's distinctive motif since 1996, which lends depth and movement to the dial itself, and by the platinum of the hand-hammered bezel, which captures reflections through micro-facets.

The principle behind the operation of this watch is quite simple: there are two minute hands superimposed on each other, and superimposed until the function is activated. Thanks to this ingenious construction, a rather sophisticated mechanism becomes intuitive, turning complexity into elegance.

The Minute Rattrapante function is operated by means of three buttons: The one at 10 o'clock adds one minute at a time, the one at 8 o'clock adds five at a time and the rose gold one coaxial to the crown is used for resetting. The rhodium-plated hand indicates the actual time, while the pink gold hand indicates the chosen interval.

When the two hands 'meet' again, the allotted time has elapsed. Everything unfolds with understated elegance, with the mechanism remaining hidden, activating only when called upon. A time measurement on demand, then, that invites the wearer to prolong a moment, slow down the pace or simply find it again.

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante: steel case

The design of the Tonda PF is highly recognisable, not least because of the integrated bracelet.

The 40 mm diameter by 10.7 mm thick case, in steel like the integrated bracelet, houses the PF052 calibre (21,600 vibrations per hour, 48-hour power reserve), an automatic manufacture movement with a 22-carat rose gold micro-rotor, guilloché-engraved like the dial, which can be admired through the sapphire crystal on the back.

Only 4.9 mm thick, this in-house-made calibre is decorated to a very high standard, including workmanship such as côtes de Genève, perlage and bevelled bridges. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 6 atmospheres of pressure (60 metres).

Price29,700 Swiss francs.
