Record-breaking Patek Philippe at Only Watch

Exceptional adjudication at the Only Watch 2015 charity auction for the Patek Philippe Ref. 5016A-010, which sold for €6.7 million, the highest price ever paid for a wristwatch. Created especially for the charity auction, it is the first and only version of the Ref. 5016 (which was in the catalogue between 1993 and 2011) produced in steel, which goes well with the blue enamel dial. The timepiece combines three complications: the tourbillon, the minute repeater and the perpetual calendar with moon phase indications. A further refinement, the perpetual calendar is equipped with a retrograde date hand which, at the end of the month, be it 28, 29, 30 or 31 days, instantly returns to position 1 thanks to the action of a mechanism controlled by a spiral spring. At the heart of the watch is a hand-wound mechanical movement comprising 506 components.
