Perrelet at SIAR 2013

From 1 to 3 October, Perrelet was one of the protagonists at SIAR, the exclusive event dedicated to Haute Horlogerie held in the elegant halls of the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City. The Maison took part in the prestigious event for the third time, displaying its 2013 collections for an audience of enthusiasts with a special focus on the brand's most significant novelties, namely the Turbine Chrono and the Turbillon, representing the latest evolution of the iconic double-rotor watch. The Turbine Chrono universe inspired the decoration of the Perrelet stand, which proposed a contemporary style in homage to the Turbine model, a model that paved the way for complications and stimulated the brand's watchmaking creativity. Some 20 CEOs of the brands exhibited were present at the show, and among them was the new Perrelet CEO Gerald Roden. It is now a tradition at SIAR to host a representation of the most prominent exponents of the international watchmaking scene each year. With the Turbine Chrono and Turbillon, Perrelet demonstrates its savoir-faire by adding two of the most popular complications to the double-rotor watch. In the case of the Turbine Chrono, Perrelet has created an unprecedented creation with a series of superimpositions. Chronograph measurements are taken thanks to a central seconds hand and a particularly innovative chronograph minute counter. The former runs over a large flange, while the latter is composed of two juxtaposed sapphire crystal elements. A movable disc with the indications rotates in the centre of a fixed ring with a red arrow marked 'min', indicating the recorded times. The Turbillon, on the other hand, owes its name to the meeting of Tur(bine) and (Tour)billon. The Turbillon watch heralds the era of an ultra-refined turbine, cut into the noble sapphire crystal. The transparent blades create a discreet animation and unexpectedly reveal Perrelet's new tourbillon. The prestigious mechanism integrates an innovative escapement, with oxidised silicon wheel and anchor, at the heart of an exclusive automatic movement. Now in its seventh year, Central America's most important trade fair has welcomed more than 17,000 visitors since 2007.
