After classic black and silver and the more modern blue and green, it is now the turn of salmon for the dial of the LAB Peripheral Dual Time Big Date by Perrelet. A shade that emphasises the key element of the collection: the peripheral oscillating weight on the dial, embellished with a plaque decorated with oblique stripes in relief, increasingly inclined from the right end towards the left.

The salmon hue is a bold and distinctive colour choice that responds to contemporary watchmaking tastes and at the same time reveals sensitivity to the past, respecting the balance between tradition and innovation that has always been the hallmark of the Manufacture's philosophy.

The salmon-coloured dials are in fact typical of the middle of the last century, the golden age of wristwatch elegance. Their highly original and nuanced shade - in which mellow pink and bright orange meet, mixed with touches of red and peach - has made a comeback in more recent times, and has become very trendy thanks to the vintage inspiration that has been all the rage in recent years.

But it is not just a matter of fashion. Precisely because they represent the direct heirs of the 1950s models, the salmon-coloured dials at the same time express a sense of continuity with history, which takes on a special significance especially from those houses with a long tradition. Just like Maison Perrelet, which was founded back in 1777.

LAB Peripheral Dual Time Big Date Salmon: big date and second time zone

This new Perrelet is powered by the IWC-manufactured P-421 calibre, mechanical automatic.

In this version, characterised by the presence of a second time zone with its day/night function and a double date window, visible at 6 and 12 o'clock respectively, the movement is the automatic P-421 calibre (28,800 vibrations per hour, rhodium-plated plate finished with circular graining, rhodium-plated bridges and decorated with Côtes de Genève, 3N gold engravings). The movement itself can be admired through the sapphire crystal porthole on the case back closed with 6 screws and provides an autonomy of 42 hours.

Particular care has been devoted to the architecture of the dial, which is characterised by a special construction. Developed on several levels, it shows the central area decorated with an elegant vertical stripe pattern, surrounded by a satin-finished ring. Both are in turn enclosed in a sandblasted metal perimeter, which stands out in contrast to the salmon-coloured display. Both hands and indices are SuperLuminova luminescent.

Another new feature introduced with the new models in the collection is the integrated bracelet, offered for the first time and made of steel like the typical 42 x 42 mm cushion-shaped case. The watch is also available with black strap calfskin with alligator motif and white stitching. In both cases, the clasp is folding and personalised. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 5 atmospheres of pressure (50 metres).

Price5,250 euros (leather strap); 5,350 euros (steel bracelet).
