Peter Kim in Italy

The exhibition "Sull'orlo della forma", curated by Maria Giovanna Musso and inaugurated on 21 June at the Museo Carlo Bilotti in Villa Borghese, Rome, will continue until 4 November. A work by Korean artist Peter Kim, it is dedicated to the relationship between form and void and, in particular, to the archetypal theme of the vase, an a-temporal place in which to preserve the memory of the world, a form that separates and includes, where the finite and the infinite converge. Peter Kim, still little known in Italy, trained in Asia and Europe and currently lives in New York. His works have been exhibited in various museums and galleries in France, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Belgium, Mexico and Serbia. His expressive research is characterised by a constant reference to the archetypal themes of memory, the fractures of time and the stresses of the present, with particular reference to the relationship between nature and culture. A series of drawings and some more material works (shapeless skeins of coloured threads) have also been selected for the exhibition at the Bilotti Museum. Free entrance.
