La Maison Cartier gives us two tasty previews of what we will see at the upcoming SIHH. These are the Captive in an XL version and the Rotonde de Cartier Tourbillon Squelette. The latter is an exclusive tourbillon with a skeleton dial, equipped with a sapphire crystal both protecting the dial and the back. The case, 45 millimetres in diameter, is in 18-carat white gold, while the movement used, a hand-wound, in-house mechanical movement, Cartier calibre 9455MC, bears the Geneva Seal. Fitted with a black alligator strap with folding clasp, the Rotonde de Cartier Tourbillon Squelette is produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
The Captive XL I is a precious quartz timepiece, with an 18-carat gold case no less than 50 millimetres in diameter. Diamonds take centre stage, both on the bezel, the dial, and finally on the distinctive upper and lower lugs, totalling 4.1 carats.
