Richard Mille is extending its partnership with the Chantilly Polo Club, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, for the next three seasons. There will be three main events in 2016: on 22 May, an international match between France and Argentina; on 5 June, the final of the Charity Cup in aid of JustWorld International will be played; and on 18 September, the 15th men's French Open and the 5th final of the women's French Open will be played simultaneously. As with all polo club events for the past year, Richard Mille will ensure the timing of the chukkas, game times of 7 minutes and 30 seconds each, that mark the polo matches. The RM 053 Tourbillon, created for and in collaboration with the Argentinean Pablo Mac Donough, one of the most talented players of his generation, uses a particularly skeletonised plate. The movement itself, which is ultra-light, is less subject to the centrifugal and centripetal forces generated during games. This watch was designed to protect the tourbillon movement from the blows of the cue during the game. The case has a double titanium carbide embossing and, at its base, two windows inclined at 30° that allow an optimal reading of the time. "It is very rare to see a player wearing a watch on a polo field, says Pablo Mac Donough. It is an extreme sport. So far, I am the only one to wear one during competitions and I particularly appreciate its unusual and daring shape'. To celebrate their friendship, Richard Mille and the Polo Club will organise Polo Clinics held by Pablo Mac Donough, master classes that will allow people to get to know the sport under the guidance of one of the discipline's greatest champions and to discover the RM 053 Tourbillon "in action".
