The brand Richard Mille revisits both technically and aesthetically the RM017 Tourbillon. It is a hand-wound model with an extra-flat rectangular case (8.7 mm thick). The RM017 calibre has a plate made of grade 2 titanium with a black PVD coating that gives the watch extreme resistance and an excellent subtlety of structure. The ceramic counter-pin for the tourbillon cage is another technical response against wear phenomena and the result of an in-depth study of friction and its effects on the durability of the components.
Again with a view to providing optimum reliability, the RM 017 tourbillon inaugurates a gear-operated barrel locking system, a system that prevents the mainspring from being under excessive tension and eliminates all risks of overloading the escapement.
The RM 017 tourbillon incorporates the function indicator developed by Richard Mille and inspired by the gear-change operation of racing cars. The selector - winding, neutral, time setting - is visible thanks to the hand at 4 o'clock.
It is available in rose gold, white gold or titanium.
