As a tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Italian tyre company, the brand has created the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Monotourbillon, which interprets one of its most iconic complications, the flying tourbillon, in a sporting and motoring key. Putting into play, as the brand is wont to do, avant-garde solutions in terms of design and materials.
It is a watch where the case (45 mm in diameter) is made of Mineral Composite Fibre (MCF), a high-tech and very resistant material. Composed of 99.95% silica, it is 13% lighter than carbon and pure white in colour.
SuperLuminova applied to the bezel, logo and indices, which makes it glow in the dark, is also used for the Pirelli 150th anniversary logo on the strap. The dial also features a power reserve indicator (equal to 60 hours) reminiscent of a car's petrol level. But the motoring references do not end there.
