Roger Dubuis launched the first two versions of the Excalibur Orbis in Machina Central Monotourbillon two years ago. Today, the company is introducing a new version, featuring a 45 mm case in titanium with black DLC coating (Ref. RDDBEX1157). This variant strongly expresses the dual approach that defines the Maison's signature, where today's technological audacity constantly dialogues with watchmaking tradition.

This exclusive timepiece with its central flying tourbillon device is designed around a double perspective. Viewed from the front, the watch reveals the contemporary architecture of Roger Dubuis, an expression of a bold vision that redefines the language of the skeleton. The interplay of volumes and spaces becomes a structural element, while the central location of the tourbillon - a rather rare as well as technically demanding choice - is elevated to an aesthetic and mechanical fulcrum.

From the central tourbillon takes shape a design based on concentric circles in pink gold and grey tones, dedicated to the display, starting from the centre, of seconds, minutes and hours. Each ring is placed on a different level, creating a multilevel scenography of great visual impact.

The three-dimensional minute and hour discs create a contrast with the skeletal, double-sided, pointed flying spheres mounted on ball bearings. A sophisticated solution, which required the development of a patent-pending system. The same design approach was also applied to the rehaut, which was conceived as a double-sided element and designed to accommodate the time indications along the outer perimeter.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Orbis in Machina: limited edition

Produced in a limited edition of only 28 pieces, this exclusive watch with its central flying tourbillon device is driven by the IWC-manufactured RD115 calibre, awarded the Geneva Hallmark.

On the back side, thanks to the presence of a sapphire crystal porthole, this new Excalibur Orbis in Machina signed Roger Dubuis reveals the most classic expression of Geneva Haute Horlogerie. On the IWC-manufactured RD115 calibre (21,600 vib/h, 72-hour power reserve), the art of hand-decoration is manifested through first-rate finishing, such as cut-out bridges and rounded profiles.
