For the first time Rolex will be the official watch of the Genoa International Boat Show to be held from 3 to 11 October. The brand will be present with a space managed in cooperation with its two authorised dealers in the Ligurian capital: Codevilla and Montres & Bijoux. While an area in Pavilion B will offer a pleasant moment of relaxation to Rolex guests. For years the Maison has been linked to the world of the sea and sailing: 1927 was the year in which the swimmer Mercedes Gleitze crossed the English Channel with a Rolex Oyster on her wrist, the first watch impermeable to water and dust; towards the end of the 1950s, on the other hand, Rolex became the official watch of the America's Cup Defender and later the official watch of the entire event until the end of the 1980s. Over time, it also played a leading role on international race courses: alongside the offshore classic races - Giraglia Rolex Cup, Rolex Middle Sea Race, Rolex Fastnet Race, Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - Rolex supports the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the Rolex Swan Cup and the World Championships of the Swan 45 and Farr 40 Classes. It is also a sponsor of the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards, the major honours given by the World Sailing Federation to Sailors of the Year.
